It is actually automatically done in Oracle and recorded in V_$SQLTEXT_WITH_NEWLINES. That it is done or can be done doesn't make it any more meaningful except in the context of a specific tuning issue and this is not the way to approach it.

I presume based on this post that we will never hear another complaint about Mark Townsend in the DB2 group from you. I know you wouldn't want to be labelled a hypocrite.
