Hi all,

Oracle 9i
Windows advanced server 2000

I would like to test if a cold backup of a 9i database is usable once restored. Once restored I would like the database to have a new name so that it does not interfere with the live instance.

Very new to Oracle so don't really have a clue where to begin. The only parameter that's obvious is the db_name...

Any or pointers on how begin greatly received.

Cheers
