Hello,
I have got a bi processor server with 4GB RAM under Windows 2000 Server. I have a oracle 8i database in production.

I wanted to change the number of writer processes, i changed the initialisation file, restarted the database but when i look into the V$PARAMETER view it is set to 1 . (DBWR_IO_SLAVES is set to 1 the default value, DISK_ASYNCH_IO is set to 1 the default value too).

Any help will be good.
Thank you.
