I would suggest you contact a vendor that offers both, such as NetApp, and ask them to provide you with the information. The costs vary from vendor to vendor but generally speaking NAS will be slower than SAN but not enough to justify the difference in cost. The question becomes one of whether you really need that extra performance and whether it is worth the cost.
