OEM - cloning the OMS installation

I have successfully installed the OMS component of OEM 9.2.0.1.0 on our Solaris 8 testbed system. Our production and business continuity systems are behind firewalls and geographically remote and it means a site visit to perform the installation using X windows.

I have tried to perform the installation by cloning i.e.
- importing the OEM repository from the testbed

Oracle say that they don't support OMS installation cloning. I was wondering whether anyone had tried something similar to what I'm trying to do and whether it had been successful. As OMS is running up I think I must be almost there.

cheers,
