Hi All,

Thanks for the reply. What I did now is use the OEM for 9i shutdown/open the databases for 8i and 9i before I always switch my Oracle home and shutdown/open it in there respective OEM version.

I added an entry in the Oracle 9i listener.ora under sid list that came from the 8i listener.ora and everything is fined. I can shutdown/open the database whether it is 8i or 9i inside the Oracle 9i OEM.
