Sometimes informing someone they have gone beyond the boundaries of their knowledge base is being helpful.

The OP also stated he was familiar with the Windows environment:

Asking such a question indicates he is not as familiar as he would like to think. And, he was answered, fully and completely, in my response.

He did provide his take on doing so, and it was incorrect.

Yet he provided a snippet of his 'technique' that even the scripts generated by DBCA don't follow.

Again, he's charging for a service he is ill-equipped to provide, given his post. And, if he hasn't personally taken on this project, and has, by some stretch, been given this assignment by his manager, it is still helpful to know he's not up to the task. Unpleasant, yes, rude, no.

I never used that term, nor did I imply it. It is you who inferred such from the text before you, an inferrence that is incorrect. I simply stated to the OP that his knowledge was lacking, and used several points from the original post to indicate why. Again, it may not have been pleasant, but it was in no way rude. And, it never stated he was un-professional.
