I have been there, couldn't find much. Hmm, guess I have to look again. What seems strange to me is that when one run the "pre upgrade" script, the output mention an "Upgrade Documentation" and it refers to chapters, like if it is a book. But what I have found are pages in other books.

Well, not moving from windows to unix I accept. The paths for starters are not even close to compatible. Oracle says that one can't move between os:es, which -to me- leaves moving between versions of the same os open. The little documentation I have found doesn't anywhere state that the old Oracle install is involved in the upgrading process. That is at least true for the manual upgrade (what dbua are doing behind the gui is never mentioned). Well, I guess I drop it and do an import...

Thanks. Never heard about Whitebox before! Didn't read the article but downloaded and installed WB and Oracle. It was a lot less hassel than with Fedora :-)
