if you want a completely separate oracle_home, sure go for it no problems.

Personally dont see the point in renaming, the files, might cause a problem for the existing oracle home

my recommandatio, just install in a new oracle home and let oracle deal with the files itself (which it does nicely on unix) Received on Sat Nov 13 2004 - 20:05:17 CST
