Mill,

By changing of Optimizer will not change the Tempory storage usage.

There is a posibility some one or some process has run a big view, YOu will notice when view are create it use Tempory storage with other things, but usaslly the big temp. storage use I had seen while using query/report/procedures with view from large tables.
