Hello all

I'm migrating from oracle 8.0.5 on nt to 9.2.0.5 on windows 2000 and want to make sure I'm not about to make any ghastly errors.

I've exported the data from the old database, created an empty database on the new server using the configuration assistant, created the relevant users and tablespace, configured archive logging, and imported the data successfully.

Can you tell me whether using the wizard to create a general purpose database, and accepting default values for memory, file sizes etc is going to be ok, or whether there is anything I ought to change? The database will only have about 40-50 concurrent application users plus a smaller number of asp connections.

I've been testing our asp scripts and have noticed to my dismay that they run more slowly than on the previous version. Is this a symptom of bloat-ware, or do I need to do some tuning to get the most out of it? The server is a 1ghz dual processor pentium 3 with a gig of ram, and the previous machine was a pentium 2 400mhz so I was expecting a performance hike.

Many thanks for you help
