As it happens I did try to use Google to find an archive ("oracle-l email archive"). However, after wading through the first few pages of links and finding nothing but sign up pages and forum postings that referred to the mailing list (I had overlooked the single link to faqchest), I thought the question to be not out of line. So please, consider me incompetent, not lazy.
