Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm implementing and documenting a backup & recovery plan and didn't want to use the run()in RMAN to avoid new documentation and training. The database is currently being backed up in hot backup mode by scripts, but nothing was being done about the archived redo logs, so the directory was just growing. I was hoping there was a way to script the desired result so that it doesn't have to be manually deleted on a weekly basis. Your answers pointed me to the right direction. Thanks to the poster who referenced his website, now I have to see if anyone can read the code.
