Practical minimums:

Pentium 600
512M Ram
5G free disk
NOT Windows "Home" edition (XP Home, ME ...)
Prefer Linux or perhaps Windows 2000 Pro, XP Pro

It is theoretically possible to go dn to 256M RAM but that becomes more an exercise in frustration.
