Are your tablespaces in hot backup mode?
What exactly is your app doing transactionally? I've found http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/showdoc?db=NOT&id=875027.101 can be helpful for figuring things out.
Where phsycially is the 200M you are talking about? How exactly do you know about the 1GB?
http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showFrameDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=122669.1 can be helpful for generally seeing if things are in the ballpark.
