I agree with all you've written. Might interest you that we now have 3 Oracle databases in the U.s. of which I am aware that exceed 1.5 Peta.

I remember when I was proud that I had reached 100GB: Put it on my resume. Now I think nothing of putting that size on a 2 proc Linux box. It is all just a matter of perspective. Heck I have 1.2TB sitting in the lab I use to teach weekend classes.
