Akshally, my first Lunix install was on my laptop... :) Mind you with 15 years of Unix under my belt and a number of installs of BSD and other PC 'nixes in the past, I didn't really fear much. And Mandrake 8 was dirt easy. So was Suse 8. The hard part was convincing XP Pro to dual boot all that. A bit of Partition Magic and Boot Magic later, it all got sorted out.

Of course, winmodem doesn't work, and the DVD-CD/RW is currrently only a DVD-CD/R, still haven't worked out how to get the darn thing to record... But then again, my notepad is an Asus L2.
