ODP.NET 9.2.0.4.10 Installation

I want to install ODP.NET, The installation instructions say, it comes with
Oracle 9.2.0.1 clinet. Then the installation instructions say that it is recommended that Oracle9.2.0.4 client is installed before ODP.NET is installed.

My question is would ODP.NET installation wipe some of Oracle 9.2.0.4 client files with Oracle 9.2.0.1 client.

Right now Oracle provided 9.2.0.1 client, 9.2.0.4.10 ODP.NET and a patch to go
from 9.2.0.1 client to Oracle 9.2.0.4 client. So should the order of installation be:

1. Oracle 9.2.0.1 Clinet
2. ODP.NET 9.2.0.4.10
3. Patch

or should the order be:

1. Oracle 9.2.0.1 Client
2. Patch
3. ODP.NET 9.2.0.4.10
