Oracle client - how to add server settings to installer files?

Every time that we install Oracle's client software, we have to manually 
configure the connections via SQL Net Easy Configuration. Is there some way 
to enter in the configuration information so that the installer will just 
install everything with our institution's server names? I've tried 
replacing tnsnames.ora in the SQLNet installer folder and in the Orant 
folder but have only received error messages from Easy Configuration.
