Hi,

you can use an ssh tunnel. There is a link to two papers about this on my site http://www.petefinnigan.com/orasec.htm. Search on the oage with CTRL-F for "ssh" and you will find a paper by Roger Schrag about securing Oracle networking, he talks about using ssh and there is also a short paper showing how to tunnel SQL*Plus using ssh.
