I don't disagree with your comment, but look at the question another
way. As he is an Oracle guy, maybe another Oracle guy's explanation will
be easier to understand using Oracle terminology.
eg. Niall (I believe) has explained many things about sql server in the
past, in these groups, and occasionally over at Oracle-L.
