In what sense is Postgresql overrrated?
Have you used the newer versions of PG recently?

Not to say that I'm advocating using PG for a "high-end commercial application", but I've been working with it for several months now, along with our Oracle db's, and it has served our needs well without failure. Obviously, Oracle has more going for it, but that's to be expected from a perennial market leader.
