if the database is not large, why not just use export / import and move the data into a newly created 9.2.0.5 database?

use the 8.1.6 export utility (compress=N, statistics=NONE) to create the dump file and use the 9.2 import utility.

This way you'll have all LMT tablespaces and not have to convert a DMT SYSTEM tablespace into an LMT one.
