Migrating database from 8.1.6 to 9.2

In the Oracle9i Database Migration Release 2 (9.2) manual, it is
indicated that one cannot directly migrate a database from 8.1.6 to
9.2 (Table 2-1  Upgrade Paths).



They instruct to first migrate the database to 8.1.7 "using the
instructions in Oracle 8i Migration", THEN migrate to 9.2.
There is no further help on where to find those instructions.



My question is, do I need to buy the CD's corresponding to 8.1.7 to
perform the migration 8.1.6 to 8.1.7 ?
