In fact, I have a Type, let's call it T1, it is created in SYSTEM schema by a dba user. I have created a public synonym S1 referencing T1. I dropped T1 (at that time, i didn't new the existence of recycle bin). Then, I couldn't do anything with S1, it was not in all_synonyms view, I could not drop it, but could not create a synonym with the name S1 anymore, because I suppose it was still linked in a way to the 'dropped' type T1. Once I purge the recycle bin, I could create the synonym with the name S1.
