Admittedly it's a (probably very rare) corner case, but what happens if

  1. Manual checkpoint starts
  2. Users dirty pages, some of which have been flushed by manual checkpoint, some of which haven't
  3. Logs go above high water mark, forcing an engine checkpoint
  4. Engine checkpoint starts
