Brian - 8i is still supported (8i Release 3, a.k.a. 8.1.7), whereas 9i Release 1 (Version 9.0.1) is not anymore. 10g would be too new (if that is possible...;-) ) - I'd wait for Release 2, or patches before going to production. I am testing...
