They aren't *exactly* the same thing, but close. As others have said, the new name for Snapshots is MVs. Snapshots have been retained for backwards compatibility. However, MVs have more features than the older Snapshots. For instance, with MVs, you have the Query Rewrite ability. Snapshots don't get to enjoy this features. HTH,Brian
