I shoud probably re-prase this one. Under Oracle 8i, there is not much difference in the number of the current gets between GGTs and ordinary tables. Actually, the 9i GTT behaviour was discovered after having migrated some applications to 9i when quite a few inserts became slower whilst retaining the same execution plan (on the same hardware).
