Hi Everyone,

I am trying to get 10g installed on RedHat 9 and the linker phase fails with the following error:

<snip>

/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/lib//libctxc10.a: could not read symbols: Malformed archive
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/rdbms/lib/oracle] Error 1
</snip>

I have searched metalink, google and otn but the only thing i threw up was someone with the same error on Solaris 9 on metalink, the thread is still active with no solution.

It is trying to build the "oracle" binary, i chose continue and the next binary fails with the same error.

I am using a CD from Oracle rather than the download. If anyone has any ideas on how to get around this i would appreciate it.

Kind regards

Pete
