Well my latest attempt failed as well. This past attempt I rebuilt the control file from trace. Still ran into it wanting an archive log file that I didn't have and so my datafiles need more recovery. Looks like I get more Oracle 7 migration practice.

I just now noticed Burt Peltier's suggestion that I should be doing an ALTER SYSTEM CHECKPOINT before the ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT. I haven't been doing this, do you believe it will make a critical difference? Received on Fri Feb 27 2004 - 09:54:01 CST
