Howard never said that TSPITR was impossible, just that *in this particular instance* it was , to put it charitably, somewhat daft. I'm not sure if DBA Infopower does outsourced DBA work or whatever, but I'd be a bit worried as a client if the DBA in charge of my database recovered it fully from backup and then rather than letting me carry on working proceded to keep me out of the database whilst they performed TSPITR from that working database to a second database. I'm sure that you can provide reasons why one might want to do that, since you suggested that it was the best course of action. I'm also curious as to what point in time you would choose to recover to since it would appear that not only are you keeping me out of a recovered database for no apparent reason, but having done full recovery you are then proposing to only give me a database with some data loss.
