True, he just need to buy EE and RAC option. Oracle pricing made from small linux boxes running RAC financial insanity, they realised that and in 10G there is a brand new offer (RAC included in SE). However, now if we're talking about 9i in Mark's case, using RAC is probably too expensive for him. I do not see RAC as "a cheapie cluster".
