Oracle version 8.1.7.4
Os Hp Unix 11

There is table that is updated very often , though pctused and pctfree are at the defaults.Lately there has been consistent ORA-060 (Dealock detected waiting for resource)

The initrans is 1 and the maxtrans is 255.Is it possible that the block is close to full and there is no room for creating a new ITL ?

As usual "nothing has changed"

What would be the best way to investigate how full the block is? 100% statistics are run nightly both on tables and indexes Mike Received on Thu Jan 15 2004 - 10:44:18 CST
