There is nothing like "certified kernel". Certification for Oracle database is done on level of distributions (commercial ones) and not on kernel level. So for Oracle 9.2.0.4 is certified as OS platform RedHat Advanced Server 2.1 (example) and not 2.4.x kernel that is included in.
