whats the value of the parameter WORKAREA_SIZE_POLICY in your instance ?
If it is AUTO then you are already using PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET and you dont need to do anything.
I feel that the PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET value of 24M that you have may not be sufficient (depends on your workload). Just check and also refer to doc Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning Guide and Reference If you have available memory, you may want to increase it. regards
