I might grant that for v3 through v6 because I didn't work on 3-5 and my knowledge when I met 6 was minimal enough it seems reasonable to blame Oracle rather than myself. ;-)

But I've been building solid systems since 7.1.x so I fail to what is broken any more so than with anything else that uses electrons.
