Hello everybody,

I've got a question for you: our DBA used to backup the DB (Oracle8 and 8i ) from a cloned server: he used to copy the archived logs to the clone DB and then apply the logs using the following command in SVRMGR (connected as internal):

SVRMGR> RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE UNTIL CANCEL; Now we passed to Oracle 9i and this procedure is no longer working (internal and SVRMGR are not present).

When he tries the command from RMAN he get the error saying that the "USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE" clause is not supported by RECOVER command.

Do you know an equivalent way to operate in Ora 9?

Thank you in advance and happy Christmas.
