Seeing that you are on 8.0.5, opening an iTar/contacting Oracle Support will very likely result in a "upgrade to the latest 8.1.7.x patch set" answer.

I suggest you do exactly that.

Oh yeah - and you do know that Oracle 8 is being desupported from next month? An upgrade to Oracle 9i would be even better. (dev platform first of course, before doing production)
