SQLNet.ora, TNSNAMES.ora (and LISTENER.ora) will be in the %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin or the $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory. Samples may appear elsewhere, especially in the directory below the one indicated.

If they are not there, either

  1. you have a bad install,
  2. your configuration using DBCA (DB Config Assistant) failed (usually last step of install)
  3. your Network Config Assistant failed

Try running DBCA or Net Config Ass't again.

Look for DBCA & NETCA batch/shell scripts in the ORACLE_HOME bin directory. Received on Mon Dec 15 2003 - 17:26:42 CST
