Joel,

Packard Bell was the worst vendor of crappy boxes. I'd much rather take my chances with the vendors at a computer show than do battle and waste my time with such junk.

No wonder why you think windows is such crap, you likely would have had the same issues while running a Linux distribution on junk hardware, if you could have even gotten something to install on it at all.

Retire the piece of trash and stop wasting your time.
