Hi Rick,

If I can't be *bothered* I submit my reports to www.oraperf.com. They come highly recommended by some of the guru's on this NG. That's good enough for me.

However, I have to say that I always try to figure out what or where the problem(s) lie before I use Oraperf. That way, I get some feedback on where I'm going wrong etc.

On the other hand, if timed_statistics is true (and if not, why not ?) then start at the top 5 waits and see how long the worst waits are, what is causing them and tune that out. Bear in mind that even if something waited for 200 seconds and the instance was up for 4 years, then you don't really have a problem ! (unless it was waiting for 200 seconds in a 2 minute snapshot, in which case, you do !)

The of course there is the new Cary Milsap book on performance tuning. Get a copy !

PS. Just in case, I know that there are only 120 seconds in a two minute snapshot :o)
