I'll answer that question. I am currently on a W2K SP4 machine with
Oracle 9.2.0.4 and 10.1.0.1. In both cases, I can assure you I am using
the spfile. And in both cases:
SQL> show parameter spfile
NAME TYPE VALUE ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------ spfile string %ORACLE_HOME%\DATABASE\SPFILE% ORACLE_SID%.ORA
Well where the ? did that come from? I did this earlier and it returned no value.
I retract my statement and I'm going to bed.
