Hi Sam. Oracle Change Manager which is one of the Enterprise Management packs compares schemas and provides the ability to run the job in the background. I'm not sure about re-submissions but it should be possible. As for comparing data, do you mean application data or meta-data? If it is application data that you want to compare then I don't think Change Manager will do that.
Some others that I know of and which provide some form of background execution facility. I'm not sure whether any of these compare application data.
