table move changes rowids?

It would seem to me that a table move (especially to a different tablespace) must create different rowids. After all, there is at least the potential that the relative file number might change. Right? Well, if this is true, how can indexes on the moved table still point to the appropriated table rows? Does the MOVE repopulate the rowids into all concerned indexes? Thanks,
