I've built a windows 2000 server with 8gb memory, and Oracle says to me that I have to put /3GB switch in boot.ini to use most of the upper memory.

I've done that and windows now sees 4 gb memory, but oracle can only use 3gb instead of the old 2gb, i'm told.

I also (after searching the net) wan't to put /PAE in the boot.ini to make the windows box use more than 4gb memory, so it sees all 8gb.

my question is this:

how do I make sure that oracle can use more memory than 3gb? ex. 6gb?
