Personally ... I'd re-ask the questions in a conference room full of
witnesses.
And then just shut up and let him dig his own grave. Or at least write a
CYA
memo such as an email to appropriate persons stating something like:
"Based on receiving the following instructions:
1. 2. 3.
I have researched the matter and found ....
1. 2. 3.
And make sure you cc: him so he can't later deny having given the instruction.
