My database is running Oracle 8.1.5.0.0 on Windows NT 4.0
service pack 6a. I noticed that the large pool which is set to
170MB and the free memory of the large pool is reduced
when the client access the database. The free memory of
the large pool is reduced until until access to the database fails
with error 4031.
Could someone enlighten me why this is so? I understand that
the large pool is used for the MTS servers and I am using MTS servers
for the database. However, I don't understand why the memory is not
released
by Oracle.
