Are you saying that it's the very nature of the applicaton that the name of the table and the database is unknown until run time? If this is *not* what you are saying, then what has already been explained *is* the solution.

If this *is* what you are saying -- that the db and table are inherently unkown until you get input from the user, then I'm sure there are ways to programaticaly implement/duplicated the previously described solution, but that is entirely an Access/VB issue. And that means this newsgroup is about as relevant to the question as is alt.computers.vic20.
