Failed to start service, error 5.TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block

Hi everybody,

I am trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 on Win2K Advanced Server.After completing the installation ,when I try to start the Oracle services from the services console,I get an error "Access is denied".When I tried to start the listener through lsnrctl, I get the following error.

Failed to start service, error 5.
TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error

I haven't specified IP address in any of the config files,I have only specified the m/c name.

Your help is truly appreciated.
